You're using an old link! - Thankfully, you no longer need to specify a nonstandard port (8080) to access my site. You could've used the more standard: http://pbrisbin.com/pages/about.html.

This place is to serve as a little slice of the internet where I can keep crap, link people to my crap, and learn how to make more better crap.
I don't care that no one will ever come here, read this or that. This is simply a hobby for me. I find it interesting that opensource software allows me to do all of this with google as my only resource. Everyday I do things on this linux box that would require weeks of training (and hefty fees) to achieve in the proprietary IT world.
For the record, this entire site sits at /srv/http of my 2.4 Ghz
Core2Quad. It runs quietly 24/7 in a spare room. I also use it as my day to
day PC and to serve media throughout the house. It runs Arch Linux.
I hold a degree in Aerospace Engineering from BU, but I currently work as an ERP Consultant writing X++ code for Microsoft Dynamics AX. I've been using Arch Linux for a few years now and do pretty much everything you see around the site as my main hobby.
The music in this domain is written/recorded by me. No, I don't expect anyone to find or listen to it. It's up here simply so I can give the singer links to stuff if and as we record it.
The home page can pretty much get you anywhere; I also have a content page and an rss feed if that's what you're into.
Here's a quick overview about the directory structure of the site:
As of 6/6/2010, all but two of my pages have been validated as XHTML 1.0 Strict, my CSS is valid level 2.1, and my RSS is valid 2.0.
